RICHMOND — The State Council of Higher Education for Virginia (SCHEV) will hold its regularly scheduled meeting January 11 virtually. The meeting will include remarks from Dr. Anne Kress, president of Northern Virginia Community College and The Honorable Mamie Locke, chair, Senate Rules Committee.
The Council’s Academic Affairs and Resources and Planning committees will meet beginning at 9:45 a.m. Council will take action on two new programs (George Mason University and Virginia Commonwealth University); certification of two postsecondary institutions (Catholic University of America - Alexandria and iGlobal University); the Virginia Public Higher Education Policy Guidelines for the Development of Pathway Map; and updated domicile guidelines based on 2020 legislation that created new provisions for in-state tuition.
The meeting also will include discussions of the Governor’s introduced budget, 2019-20 degree and certificate awards, and fiscal sustainability reviews. Other items will include an update on the Transfer Virginia portal and the graduate outcomes survey.
The Council will convene its regular meeting at 11:45 a.m.
